Back in September and October I would show up intermittingly every 1-3 weeks in a C172 or C182, borrow a crew car for two hours to play a game at the Scottsdale Sports Complex just north of the airport, and then take a shower in the pilots lounge before leaving (if I didn't stay overnight). The lounge is spotlessly clean, features exercise equipment, HDTV, kitchen, flight planning room with computers, shower, and quiet rooms. If I left the same night I wasn't charged anything other than what I paid for fuel. The overnight fee for a light single was $15. I had an appointment two miles away and I was provided with a crew car. A little over two hours later I departed with the tanks topped-off (done prior to my return) and two cold bottles of water that were handed to me as I preflighted (that was a nice touch).
